Blair Academy Making it Big

After graduating Blair Academy, my fellow classmate Anthony D’Amato is getting well deserved recognition for his music.

It seems like not too long ago he was playing Death Cab for Cutie in Armstrong-Hipkins Center to raise money for Katrina.  But, from hitting the road with Pete Yorn and Ben Kweller to touring the UK with Jesse Malin to great press on NPR and in the New York Times, you could say his first album was a success. Did I mention he was ranked within the top 100 singer/songwriters on iTunes?

Check out his new album Paper Back Bones which was just released on iTunes yesterday.  The acoustics and vocals are really amazing and perfect for an overcast weekday like today.

What I Learned from My Sister This Weekend

In case you are not up to speed, Hope is my 8 year old very pretty, very goofy, and what I have come to realize, very insightful sister. 

These are just a few noteworthy anecdotes that I took away with me after spending the weekend together. 

1. MY NEW FAVORITE KNOCK KNOCK JOKE…

2. THIS SUMMER’S MUST READ…I Have To Go!

3. YOU ARE NEVER TOO YOUNG TO ENJOY A GOOD PUN…I must confess, I underestimated the wit of an 8 year old.  While I was preoccupied thinking of other interrupting animals to contribute to the joke, Hope had already moved on to name her new pool float.

Style Favorites

Unlike most women residing in the Concrete Jungle, I have, and will most likely never, master the art of wearing heels. Not only is it a hazard to myself, but to sturdier friends around me; most often ending up in some form of disaster similar to this.

Lucky for ladies battling this condition, we live in a fashion era that strives for effortless beauty.  That is why I cannot imagine my wardrobe without these basic “I-just-found-this-old-thing-in-my-closet” items.
